Western Heritage Weekend Sept. 23 & 24

It's almost time for Dewey's Western Heritage Weekend!  The activities for the weekend are the Tom Mix Festival on Saturday, and the Wild West Show on Sunday.  Go to the WHW website for more information and to purchase tickets.

Saturday kicks off with the Miles For Mammograms Outlaw Dash 5k run and fun walk.  Food and merchandise members will be set up downtown and in Kiwanis Park on Saturday (then again on Sunday at Prairie Song).  There will be live music, children's games, book signings, museum tours, reinactments  and more throughout the day.  The Parade will start at 4 pm (come to watch the longhorn cattle in downtown Dewey!).  The Dewey Hotel will sponsor a live-music dance in front of the Hotel on Saturday evening.  That event is free to the public.  Most activities on Saturday's Tom Mix Festival are free.

Sunday's activities will take place at Prairie Song east of town on Durham.  Cowboy church starts things off at 10 am (gates open at 9:30 am Sunday - tickets may be purchased at the gate for the Wild West Show).  The Wild West Show starts at 1:30 pm.  Live music, vendors, tours of Prairie Song, and reinactments will take place up to the start of the show. Food & merchandise vendors will be open throughout the show.

Tickets for the Wild West Show may be purchased in advance at the Tom Mix Museum in Dewey, or on the Western Heritage Weekend website.  Tickets will also be on sale downtown Saturday, September 23 during the Tom Mix Festival.
