Lodging Tax on the Nov. 4 ballot PASSED
City of Dewey

The November 4 ballot had a proposition on the it that will initiate a 5% Lodging Tax on any future hotels (or other short-term lodging places) established in the city limits. The ordinance is number 2008-1481, and is not a tax on Dewey citizens as a whole. It will only tax persons staying at a hotel or motel in Dewey city limits. If you travel, you know that a lodging tax is standard, and differs from city to city. The City hopes to use a portion of this lodging tax as an incentive for much-needed hotels/motels to establish themselves in Dewey.
