Dewey Clock Installed as Memorial for Charlie Ellis

The post clock that the Dewey Civic Association has been raising money for has been installed.  This memorial to Charlie Ellis is a black with gold trim, two-faced clock that sits at the corner of Don Tyler and Shawnee (by the post office).  The clock's face is lit at night, and the casting on the clock's header says "Est. 1905 Dewey, OK" (1905 being the year Dewey's charter was signed).

The City is excited about the addition of this clock as part of our downtown renovation project.  Many thanks goes to the Dewey Civic Association and the many donors for acquiring the clock.  Thanks to Larry Thrash of Armstrong Bank for heading the clock project.

There was a formal dedication of Charlie's Clock on September 20, coinciding with the Western Heritage Weekend.  A plaque has been placed in front of the clock, honoring Charles Ellis.
