6th Annual Dewey Duck Derby Winners!

Despite the rain on July 4, the 4th of July fireworks spectacular and Duck Derby at Don Tyler Park went off with a bang!  We appreciate everyone who came out and celebrated with the Dewey Civic Association and the City of Dewey.  The rain never stopped the band, WayLayed, from playing all night.  They were real troopers and they were outstanding!

The ducks didn't care if it was raining or not, they were ready for a race!  Over 1,000 numbered ducks started from Brahma and raced through the park, in and out of multiple obstacles, so that someone would win that 46" flat screen TV.  After a nail-biting ending, the winning duck was #19, purchased by Duane Price.  Right on his tail feathers was the duck purchased by Lola Simpson.  3rd place was won by Casey Beaver, 4th place was Kay Bales, and 5th place was Robert Stewart's duck.  The duck that just couldn't finish the race was owned by Troy Stokes, but it won him an outdoor motion detection light, donated by the Dewey Neighborhood Watch.

Fireworks went off a little after 9:30 pm.  They were wonderful, as usual.  Thanks goes to all the Fan Club members who donated towards the fireworks this year.  If you would like a 2010 fan, you can pick one up at City Hall, Arvest, Armstrong, the Tom Mix Museum, or Popkess Pharmacy.

This event wouldn't take place without the hard work of the Dewey Civic Association.  The City thanks them for all they do for the City!  We will do it all over again in 2011!
