Dewey's Tom Mix Festival and Wild West Show are coming up September 18 and 19. The events together make up Deweys Western Heritage Weekend.
Saturday's entertainment begins at 11 am and will include music, gun fights, mechanical bull riding, children's games, an antique tractor show, great food and other vendors, tours of the Tom Mix Museum and the haunted Dewey Hotel Museum, and a western parade at 3 pm - complete with a longhorn cattle drive through downtown Dewey! These activities are free to the public.
Sunday's activities start with a chuckwagon breakfast at 9:30 (small fee), the "Sermon on the Mount" (horse-whispering) at 10:30, and moves on to more food vendors, gun fights, live music, Prairie Song tours, and culminates in a Wild West Show at 1:30 pm featuring the One Arm Bandit and other western acts! There is a fee to enter Prairie Song on Sunday for these events (see the Community Calendar for prices).
