Tom Mix Festival/Western Heritage Weekend

The Tom Mix Festival kicks off the Dewey Western Heritage Weekend!  The Festival starts at 10 a.m. with live music, children's games, Tom Mix Museum and Dewey Hotel tours, food vendors, merchandise vendors, talks in the Tom Mix Museum, Tom Mix films at the Ahava Cafe/L'Chaim theatre, a costume contest, gun fighters and the parade at 3 p.m.  The highlight of the parade is a Longhorn cattle drive through downtown Dewey!  After the parade, stay for the live music and vendors.  Festivities end at around 5 pm.  For information about entering the parade, call Craig Epps at 337-3379 or Larry Thrash (918) 440-3205.  Also happening Saturday is the 5k & fun run for Miles For Mammograms.  Go to for entry information.


Tickets for Sunday's Wild West Show will be on sale at varioius businesses, the Tom Mix Museum, and in the park on Sept. 27 .  Don't forget to buy chances on a set of fancy spurs that are replicas of a pair Tom Mix owned.  These are crafted by local craftsmen.
